Charlton 1 Tranmere 1
There were more points dropped at home as nervy Charlton's bid for automatic promotion starts to run out of steam.
The Addicks, who lost 1-0 at The Valley against Leyton Orient last Monday, saw another lowly League One side leave with a result as they were held by Tranmere.
A Sam Sodje own goal handed the visitors the lead but skipper Nicky Bailey scored his 11th goal of the season to salvage a point.
Sodje, back in the side after a four game ban, could not get out of the way of Ian Thomas-Moore's cross on 50 minutes
Bailey equalised from close range after latching onto Deon Burton's header from a corner seven minutes later.
Bailey could have had a second when he hit the post in the dying seconds, although Tranmere's Ian Goodison earlier saw a header bounce back off the bar.
Tranmere were reduced to 10 men when Zoumana Bakayogo was sent off for a second bookable offence in injury time.
Charlton suffered a blow of their own when keeper Rob Elliott was forced off with a back injury. He's a doubt for Tuesday's clash with Walsall.
The draw sees Charlton stay in third place, but they have lost ground on Leeds and new league leaders Norwich.
Charlton manager Phil Parkinson said: "It was disappointing. In the first half Tranmere came to slow the game down and we needed to up the tempo. That's what we talked about at half-time.
"We needed to pick up the pace of the game and look to play forward. I thought we went backwards too much in the first half.
"Ever since games were called off and Norwich had that terrific run and went past us there's been an edginess here and it' s been reflected in our play."
