Tube strikes called off

00jul17transport2web.jpgThe proposed series of 24 hour strikes on the Jubilee line were suspended yesterday when a new pay offer was made.

Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport Union (RMT) were due to stage a walk-out at 7.30 tonight over a pay discrepancy between maintenance workers employed by Alstom at the Stratford Market depot.

A second strike was scheduled for Sunday, with more to follow every week until a solution was reached, but they will not go ahead while union officials consider the offer made by Alstom last night.
