Jubilee line set for series of one day strikes
The Jubilee line is set to be hit be a series of 24-hour strikes from next week after union workers voted for action.
The Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union members will walk out from 7.29am on January 27 in a dispute over a pay gap between them and other tube workers.
Strikes will then happen from 7.29am every Sunday from January 31, which will cause disruption to Monday morning commuters.
It will be a double whammy for Wharfers, already inconvenienced by the closure of the DLR station at Bank.
The dispute centres on an alleged pay difference between fleet maintenance staff employed by Alstom and other Underground workers.
RMT general secretary Bob Crow said: "We hope that management will now recognise that they cannot go on treating fleet maintenance staff as poor relations and that they will get back round the table and negotiate a fair settlement."
The RMT has received a new pay proposal from Alstom which it is considering.
A decision on whether the strikes will go ahead will be taken on Monday.

Won't really make a difference. The jubilee line is usually suspended every weekend in any case.
First of all, Since when did jubilee run properly? They suspend the line on the weekend due to 'engeernering works' and when they are running during the weekdays your forever stuck in the tunnel with the most pathetic excuse eg. 'we are held here because there's a train in front of us and there is a big gap behind us', 'we are held here because there is a fault on the doors on the train ahead', 'we are held here because there is a person taken ill at the next few stops', 'we are held here with a red signal, we should be on the move shortly'. 5mins later. 'we are still held here at a red signal, as soon as we get a green light we will depart' another 5 mins later 'I've just been told by the controllers we shall be on the move in the next minute or so' 10 minutes later. 'sorry ladies and gentlemen this train will now terminate here and will be suspended untill further notice'. I mean what the ?#!$. We pay stupid amount of money to travel, we expect the bloody jubilee line to work!!!! Please stop the engeenering works... what are they engeernering on??? when they don't work and they have the cheek to have a pay rise!!! arrrrg retards!
