Saturday's clash at The Valley between Charlton and Hartlepool has been called off.

Frost covers, which had been on the pitch since New Year's Day were not able to prevent the surface freezing and the club announced on Thursday morning that the game would be postponed.

Earlier in the week Charlton's operations director Mick Everett said: "Obviously, we are well aware of all the issues regarding fans' travelling plans, particularly in the current treacherous conditions around the country, and we hope to be able to confirm whether the game goes ahead by the end of Thursday, as this will save Hartlepool from travelling south early on Friday morning."

Meanwhile, Charlton's match away to Walsall, which was called off last weekend will now take place on February 2.
