Just eight months after Parmjit Ghatoura started her own beauty business it has already tripled in size.

The 25-year-old, who runs Aspasia Beauty, has opened two new treatment rooms in addition to her initial service at Canary Wharf development Discovery Dock, by South Quay DLR.

She has taken over two new sites this summer, one at Ability Place in Millharbour and another at Bow Quarter in Bow.

She decided to expand due to the success of the Discovery Dock business and after hearing about the two other openings.

"It was a great opportunity," said Parmjit. "It was always my long term ambition to get a chain of treatment rooms and it's happened quite quickly.

"I've now had to hire someone else to work with me."

Parmjit has worked as a beautician for eight years and uses natural products such as Hungarian organic and lycon hot wax.

Despite starting her business at the beginning of the recession, it has proved a welcome success story.

All three treatment rooms are based next to health clubs within modern developments.

Parmjit said: "Being next to gyms works well as it's convenient for those coming in to the building.

"I've got my regular clients and they're also bringing in more people via word of mouth.

"This place is doing well and hopefully the two new ones will be at the same level in the next few months."
