IN A NUTSHELL
The Mixmag Grand Tour drew to a close with an artist who, refreshingly, is still very much looking forward writes Kate Walter.

REVIEW
Many people will have been in bed, but at 2am in Greenwich around 2,500 were eagerly anticipating the appearance of a dance legend.

As Annie Mac ended her set, the bars emptied, the air of anticipation grew and everybody came down to hit the dance floor. Expecting an audience of 20-somethings, I was surprised to see so many older teens, many of whom will not have been old enough to remember Fatboy Slim's '90s heyday.

An impressive set of largely new material kicked off with the classic Praise You but also featured a scattering of vintage material including Eye of the Tiger.

The atmosphere was buzzing. Both Norman Cook and the crowd were full of energy.

Matter's sound system brought out the best of the beats, the graphics on screen and ceiling circling around the ebbing crowd.

Fatboy Slim is clearly moving away from his older material and looking in a new direction in a bid to keep apace of the ever changing dance scene.

While successful in attracting the younger generation, there was some disappointment from his older fans that so few of the hits got an airing.

There are few who would doubt that he still has the ability to mix a phenomenal set but if you can, catch him live.
