Millwall's "flavour of the month" Steve Morison said wise words from boss Kenny Jackett have helped him score his recent flurry of goals.

The summer signing from Stevenage Borough has scored five goals in his last three matches to take his tally to eight so far this season.

He hit two in Saturday's draw with Charlton and afterwards put in a good word for the manager.

Morison said: "It's taken me a bit of time to get the goals. I got the odd one early on this season but now I'm starting to hit a run of form. I just want to keep scoring.

"Kenny said a few weeks back to not worry about scoring goals but to concentrate on putting myself about and being a handful for the centre-halves.

"I've been playing more-or-less upfront on my own so I just have to be a handful, win my headers and hold the ball up.

"The manager said the chances would come and both my goals at Charlton came from winning the ball, chasing it and getting a bit of luck."

The 26-year-old also praised the club's fans who packed out the Charlton away end on Saturday.

He said: "At the end we were walking off and I think even if we had lost 4-3 they would have clapped us off. They saw the effort we put in and the commitment we had.

"That's all they want. They couldn't care if we lose every week as long as we're 100 per cent committed. They are a fantastic bunch of fans.

"When they are behind you they are great. At the moment I'm flavour of the month and long may that continue."
