Millwall 3 MK Dons 2

So what do Millwall take away from last night?
Do they focus on the 2-0 half-time lead, which could have been more against a freefalling MK Dons side? Do they kick themselves for blowing that lead when a football team decided to turn up after half time?
Or do they pat Steve Morison on the back, and stuff the three points under their mattress like a grandma saving for Christmas?
Because, despite the scare the Lions inflicted on their own fans last night, this game produced maximum points, allowed them to leapfrog MK Dons on goal difference, and left them two points from the last playoff spot.
It all seemed so easy in the early stages as well. Chris Hackett's probing passes unsettled the Dons backline, and it was from one of his crosses that Andy Frampton headed home on 11 minutes. It was two just nine minutes later, as Dave Martin collected the rebound from Danny Schofield's shot and laid it off for Hackett to open his account for the day.
Dons keeper Willy Gueret ably clawed away Morison's shot soon afterwards, and Paul Robinson's header skimmed wide of the post just a few minutes before half-time.
MK Dons were barely relevant to most of the first half action, but it was to be a different story after the re-start. With the half just a few seconds old, Jermaine Easter outpaced the Millwall defence before plonking a long-range effort beyond David Forde. Forde had to be on his toes in the next quarter of an hour, blocking efforts from Sam Baldock and Jason Puncheon. But the pressure told with the last ten minutes approaching, as Easter found time to smack home an equaliser.
It was Millwall's turn to feel overwhelmed. Was this a welcome draw against promotion rivals, or two points splattered petulantly against the wall like a toddler's bowl of hot porridge? Actually, it was neither of the two, thanks to the goal-shy former non-league striker Morison.
With three minutes gone in injury time, Morison created space in the box, and lashed home a goal which continued the Dons' grim run. It snapped a four-game run without a win for the Lions, who will travel to Hartlepool on Saturday.
