Gold and Sullivan table offer for West Ham
David Gold and David Sullivan are reported to have made an offer to buy West Ham this afternoon.
The pair, previously owners of Birmingham City, are thought to have made a "nominal" offer with a view to buying the club outright at a later date.
They would offer their expertise of running a football club and also make funds available to manager Gianfranco Zola to strengthen his squad during January's transfer window.
There has been no comment from the club, or owners CB Holdings, on the alleged offer. CB Holdings value the club at around £80million and any potential new owner would also have to take on the Irons £38million debt and substantial liabilities.
Gold and Sullivan bought Birmingham for £1 and transformed the club's fortunes before selling it for £82million to Carson Yeung earlier this season.
Gold was born in east London and comes from a family of Hammers' fans and is thought to be keen to acquire the club.
