FA Cup: Millwall 4 Staines Town 0

So Millwall will still be in the FA Cup in January.
Last night, there was no euphoric talk of the "magic of the cup", no milkmen dancing in the changing rooms, no embarrassed silences. Staines took the Lions to a replay, but no further.
The home side will face Derby County in the third round, having eluded a potential banana skin thanks to goals from Steve Morison, Jack Smith, Alan Dunne and Danny Schofield. Kenny Jackett missed the match due to illness, but he won't have to read the squad the riot act when he shelves the Lemsip and returns to the fray.
That said, it did take 40 minutes for the League One side to make the breakthrough. Schofield knocked on Smith's long ball and found Morison, and a player who was plying his trade in non-league football as recently as last year with Stevenage Borough turned his man before finding the net.
Morison played his part in the second goal just after half time, teeing up Smith to despatch his first for the club on 50 minutes. While Staines hit the bar through Simon Jackson with a quarter of an hour to go, the Lions were able to extend their lead further on 79 minutes when Dunne met Schofield's corner to nod home. Adam Bolder's free-kick found Schofield in injury time, allowing Millwall to add further gloss to the scoreline.
