Therry Racon says he has no plans to leave Charlton despite newspaper reports linking him to a number of Premier League and Championship clubs.

The French midfielder, who has recently lost his place in the first team, says he knows nothing about the speculation and wants to stay at The Valley.

Despite starting just one game in the last four, it has been reported that the former Marseille player was a target for clubs including Blackburn, Portsmouth, West Brom and Nottingham Forest.

Racon, who has 18 months left on his Charlton contract, said he only found out about the transfer speculation on Tuesday morning.

He told The Wharf: "I came in to the dressing room this morning and someone asked me but I don't know anything about it.

"I'm not thinking about it. I just want to keep working hard and prove to the manager I can be a key player for the team.

"It's a shame that recently I have been on the bench but I just have to keep working hard on the training ground and hopefully I will be back soon. I'm fit and ready to go so hopefully I'll be back."

The 25-year-old has had mixed fortunes since being brought to south east London in 2007 by Alan Pardew.

After finding it difficult to break into the Charlton team under the former manager, Racon became a regular first teamer in last year's relegation season, with his promising form being one of few bright spots for the Addicks.

"Since coming here it has not been as I expected because there has been lots of ups and downs," he said. "Last season was not good for the team but was for me except for injuries.

"This season I have played 17 or 18 games so I just want to get back in the team and help them get promoted.

"I had thought about going back to France but I'm glad I stayed. I love it here. I like London and England. Hopefully I can stay."

Regarding Saturday's game against Millwall, Racon said all the players are looking forward to the clash.

"It's going to be good," he said. "We are expecting a great atmosphere in the stadium.

"This is the game we were looking for in the fixture lists at the start of the season because of it being a local derby. We've all been looking forward to it."
