IN A NUTSHELL
Drag the acid washed denim down from the loft, Bon Jovi are back with an album of timeless tracks.

If I had my doubts about the existence of an elixir for eternal youth, they have all been quashed by Bon Jovi's latest album.

With the formulaic genius of a Barbara Cartland novel, the New Jersey rockers have put together a timeless collection of tracks, that thoroughly mask the band's twenty six years together.

At the same time, they are celebrating them. The album's opening song and current single, 'We Weren't Born To Follow' has all the anthemic glory of Living On A Prayer.

When the chorus, 'yeah yeah yeah, were weren't born to follow...' kicks in, chances are you will have to sit on your hands to avoid raising them above your head and punching the air.

Superman Tonight is equally empowering, employing the slightly less mulleted men's recipe for power ballad mastery.

The Circle is Bon Jovi unashamedly treading the path they have trodden since at least 1990. But they tread it so well, to veer off now might only be embarrassing.
