MP Jim Fitzpatrick to undergo surgery

Jim Fitzpatrick142WEB.jpgPoplar and Canning Town MP Jim Fitzpatrick will be swapping his advice surgery for a medical one when he goes into hospital just before Christmas.

Mr Fitzpatrick is scheduled to have a neurosurgical operation for a condition called trigeminal neuralgia on December 15, which will put him out of action for several weeks.

It means the Labour member will miss his advice surgery on December 18, although his experienced staff will sit in for him at Trussler Hall in Poplar.

Mr Fitzpatrick has suffered from the condition, which causes severe recurring pains in the face, for over 10 years and the operation is now recommended.

He has scheduled it to coincide with the Parliamentary Christmas recess from December 16 to January 5.

He said: "In nearly 13 years I've only missed about 10 surgeries, but I know my team are excellent."

To make an appointment for one of Mr Fitzpatrick's surgeries call 020 7536 0562.
