Julie Andrews and Rod Stewart confirm O2 shows
The O2 will be alive to the sound of music when one of Britain's most loved singers makes a one-off performance at the arena.
Dame Julie Andrews, Oscar-winning singer and actress will make her first UK stage appearance in 30 years when she plays the venue on May 8.
Also lined up for a show at the arena is veteran rocker Rod Stewart, who is scheduled to appear on May 29.
An Evening With Julie Andrews will see the 74-year-old perform songs from her most famous stage and screen roles, including The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins, as well as a live narration from children's book Simeon's Gift, written by Dame Julie and her daughter Emma Walton Hamilton.
She will be accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Ian Fraser, and will be joined on stage by an ensemble of five performers, including West End and Broadway stars.
Dame Julie said: "To perform once again in my homeland on the London stage will be a wonderful moment. It is where it all began for me, and I am so excited to be able to share a brand new work with audiences."
