AA-Nov19 -attenborough.jpgBritain's greatest living naturalist swapped the tropical rainforest for the rain soaked urban jungle of Canary Wharf and found himself swamped.

Sir David Attenborough had fans queueing round the block to meet him at a book signing in Jubilee Place mall this afternoon.

The venerable broadcaster was such a draw both branches of Waterstone's in Canary Wharf sold out of his latest book, Life Stories - some 500 copies.

It meant a good two hours of signing and posing for photographs for Sir David, a far cry from the peace and quiet of his day job, and a long wait for the adoring fans.

Despite the marathon effort Sir David showed little sign of fatigue and declared himself "very pleased" with the response.
