Fans await mammoth Mamma Mia O2 screening

DD-dec3-Abba.jpgDancing queens and Abba themes will be the name of the game when the hit movie Mamma Mia gets a special showing at The O2 in January.

The film, the highest grossing film of all time at the British box office, will be shown on a 100ft screen at the arena on January 24, giving up to 12,000 fans the chance to enjoy it in all its spangly glory.

Those coming to watch, some coming presumably from Waterloo, are being encouraged to dress in their favourite Mamma Mia gear and sing along to their favourite hits from the Swedish supergroup.

David Campbell, chief executive and president of AEG Europe, owners and operators of The O2, said: "The success of Mamma Mia, the film in the UK is incomparable. It has successfully brought the infectious music of Abba to an entirely new generation.

"My children are already tugging at my sleeve to make sure I get them tickets for what will be a brilliant afternoon out."

The film, starring Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth, will be shown twice on the day, once in the morning and again in the afternoon.

Tickets are on sale from theo2.co.ukor by calling 0844 856 0202. So get that money, money, money ready.
