Clippers could have new logo as timetable changes
Thames Clippers boats could soon sport a version of the London Underground logo to make them easier to distinguish from pleasure boats.
Mayor of London Boris Johnson has allocated £30,000 to improve the branding of river services to end confusion for passengers confused by the multitude of pleasure boats and ferry services.
More than 50 operators, including Thames Clippers, run over 200 boats on the river, which can make it difficult for commuters to know which one to board.
Clippers are increasing some ticket prices from today, as well as making minor changes to the timetable.
£5 single tickets will now cost £5.30, while cross river tickets will increase to £3.20 from £3, to bring them further in line with Transport for London's ticket pricing structure.
However, pay as you go Oyster cards will be accepted on some Clippers services from November, giving passengers a 10 per cent discount on a single fare.
From today an additional Woolwich shuttle service will run via the QEII pier at weekends, while the last sailings on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays will be brought forward to regulate the winter timetable.
