No doubt him and fellow Charlton fan Ruud Van Nistelrooy will be huddled round a radio listening to the World Service and trying get the latest news on Charlton's progress against Oldham.
In the Addicks squad, Frazer Richardson could miss out, and Lloyd Sam is another doubt.
Chris Solly and Scott Wagstaff are on stand-by to deputise and Miguel Llera could also step back in the side at centre-back.
The Latics, whose extensive list of famous fans includes Page 3 pin-up Michelle Marsh and Emmerdale actor Alex Carter, are unbeaten in the last four matches.
Meanwhile, former chief executive Peter Varney has returned to Charlton as a non-executive director.
