Michael Jackson O2 exhibition: exclusive preview
The King of Pop might be dead but his memory lives on in an exhibition of memorabilia opening later this month at The O2.
Michael Jackson: The Official Exhibition opens on October 28 at The O2 Bubble, and these pictures give Wharf readers an exclusive taste of what fans can expect to see.
The exhibition celebrates the iconic entertainer's career from his early days with the Jackson 5 through his hugely successful solo career of the 1980s and 90s up to his planned comeback earlier this year.
One of the most iconic pieces of clothing on display will be the white, crystal-covered glove Jackson regularly wore in performance during the late 1970s and early 1980s.
There will also be items Jackson would have worn in the This Is It Tour he was due to start at The O2 in July.
Jackson was to have played 50 dates at the arena but died of heart failure on June 25. For many of his fans this exhibition is the closest they will now ever get to their idol.
The memorabilia on show includes the tour jacket designed by Zaldy (pictured left), which has never been seen before.
Other tems on display include Jackson's black fedora, a 19th century piano from his Neverland ranch, music awards, as well as the Neverland Crest (pictured top) which adorned the gates of the singer's ranch.
Fans can also get close to numerous jackets familiar to millions from videos, including a recreation of the red and black jacket immortalised in the groundbreaking Thriller video in 1983.
Also designed by Zaldy, this was to have been worn by the singer during the Thriller section of the show.
