DLR services hit by "computer system" glitch

UPDATE: Services on the east route have now resumed
Computer problems which affected DLR services last night have run on into today.
The network was suspended from 4.45pm to 6.05pm yesterday, and a relapse caused the eastern line to be shut from 7.43am this morning.
The DLR was running from 6am with severe delays before the difficulties worsened, requiring more drastic action. Operator Serco claims that engineers are now close to resolving the problem, which requires replacement buses to be run between Canary Wharf and Beckton or King George V. The buses are not stopping at East India and Poplar.
The service is operational between Tower Gateway and Crossharbour, Stratford and Canary Wharf and Bank and Lewisham.
A spokeswoman said: "We have a problem with the computer software in the control room which provides communication between the control room and the trains.
"Without this communication, we cannot run the trains."

There was also the same problem on Thursday morning from about 7.20pm. My train was stuck at Greenwich DLR for 20 minutes and I saw that trains towards bank were affected with delays of about 30 minutes! It was exactly the same this morning, luckily I left 3 minutes early and saved myself getting delayed again. Quite dissapointing to have the same problem 2 days in a row.
