Millwall 3 Huddersfield Town 1
Millwall got their season back on track with a convincing 3-1 win over high-flying Huddersfield on Saturday.
Goals from Chris Hackett, Neil Harris and Steve Morison - his first for the Lions - sealed a much-needed League One win for Kenny Jackett's men.
Hackett opened the scoring in the 12th minute after latching onto Harris' inch-perfect pass to drive the ball past Terriers' keeper Alex Smithies.
Two minutes later Harris doubled the Lions' advantage with an excellent near post header from Dave Martin's left-wing cross.
Millwall were rampant and totally outplayed their visitors, who offered very little by way of attacking threat.
Morison opened his Lions account with a smart header four minutes after half-time to kill off any faint hopes Huddersfield had of staging a comeback.
Home keeper David Forde was a virtual spectator throughout but was annoyed to have been beaten five minutes from time when Jordan Rhodes slammed the ball home from 18 yards.
Forde's annoyance earned him a booking but it could not take the gloss off a fine Millwall performance.
Jackett was relieved to see his side turn their fortunes around.
He said: "We've lost a lot of players through injury and we've been very disrupted as a side and the performances have reflected that.
"But it was a good one today and one to build on."
