Credit Suisse triumph in Enduro Challenge
Credit Suisse overcame bad weather to bag bragging rights over five other financial institutions with victory in the latest Enduro Challenge.
The Tower to Tower event held over the August bank holiday weekend saw six teams battle it out in a triathlon relay race between London and Paris.
Starting at the Tower of London on Friday the teams ran 80 miles to Dover, with Deutsche Bank claiming the leg.
Bad weather meant the cross channel swim to Calais was cancelled for the first time in the event's five-year history. A 30km swim was held in Dover harbour instead, won by Credit Suisse.
After catching the ferry to France the teams then cycled 180 miles to Paris, with Barclays arriving at the Eiffel Tower ahead of the rest of the field.
Credit Suisse topped the rankings with a total time of 27 hours, 35 minutes and nine seconds, 62 minutes ahead of second placed Barlays Capital.
Team captain Becky Glover was delighted Credit Suisse regained the title they lost to Morgan Stanley last year.
She said: "We felt on top of the world when we finished. We knew we had a really good team, but when the cross-Channel stage was cancelled we were worried as we knew the swimming was our main strength."
The Enduro Challenge aimed to raise £20,000 for The Place 2 Be, Credit Suisse's charity of the year.
