Barnet 2 Millwall 0

MillwallLOGO142.jpgMillwall's injury woes continued as they were brushed aside by Barnet in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy last night.

The 2-0 defeat at Underhill was almost immaterial as skipper Paul Robinson and striker Jason Price both picked up injuries to add to the number of Lions players sidelined.

Robinson, returning after being out with a broken foot picked up in pre-season training, limped off after 37 minutes with an ankle injury. He was joined on the treatment table by striker Jason Price, who pulled a muscle just after half-time.

Goals from Jake Hyde and Albert Adomah put paid to the Lions hopes of taking anything from this first round tie but Millwall boss Kenny Jackett will be more concerned about having 10 injured first team players to deal with.

The visitors were on the back foot as soon as Hyde put Barnet ahead in the second minute and despite occasional threats from Gary Alexander, Millwall could do little to stop themselves sliding out of a second cup competition in a week.

One bright spot for the Lions was the signing of Yeovil midfielder Danny Schofield on transfer deadline day. The former Huddersfield Town player, 29, can operate in the centre or on the flanks and will add to Jackett's options with the games coming thick and fast in League One.

Jackett said: "I see Danny as a wide midfielder rather than as a winger as such and I'm sure he'll prove to be a good addition for us."
