Law firm opens new department

Legal practice firm CM Murray is launching a business immigration department and adding two key personnel to its team.

Anna Birtwistle joins as an associate, while Edward Wanambwa, pictured, comes in as a partner and will lead the new department at the Canary Wharf company.

Mr Wanambwa joins from Clifford Chance and specialises in employment law and business immigration law.

Ms Birtwistle has come from a position at Simmons & Simmons. The Japanese speaker has a particular interest in discrimination issues.

Managing partner Clare Murray said: "Edward and Anna's arrival further enhances our ability to service our clients' needs across the whole range of employment, partnership and business law."

Mr Wanambwa said: "I am delighted to be joining CM Murray at an exciting time in the firm's development. I look forward to working with Clare and the team."

CM Murray, based at One Canada Square, is a niche employment and partnership law practice.
