The Indigo2 will provide the setting for the first UK solo performance from 50 Cent's G-unit affiliate, Lloyd Banks.

The hip-hop star accompanied 50 Cent on his 2007 UK tour, but this time round, following over 5million sales world wide of his two solo albums, Banks will be the star attraction.

A strong contingent of UK hip-hop favorites including Sway, Bashy and Wretch 32 will provide support for the Grammy award nominated mixtape artist of the year.

A guest appearance by 50 cent has also been announced.

Expect an energetic performance, as Banks aims to recreate his stateside success this side of the pond.

Whether he will, of course, remains to be seen.

STAGE
The Graduate, The Space

dd-jul16-GraduateWEB.jpg

Originally a classic novel, then a cult film, now The Graduate is given a twist by newly formed in-house theatre company, SpaceWorks.

Based at The Space, the company's first production explores the sexual awakening of confused and disillusioned student Benjamin Braddock under the watchful guidance of the infamous Mrs Robinson.

This adaptation by Terry Johnson has enjoyed success in the West End.

Here it is presented by enthusiastic amateur dramatists who via SpaceWorks get the opportunity to rehearse and perform the play under the guidance of professional directors and tutors at The Space.

The Gresham Ship Discovery, Museum of London Docklands

DD-jul16-MODWebby.jpg

As part of the ongoing Festival of British Archeology exhibition at the Museum of London Docklands, archaeologist Gustav Milne from University College London explains the how the discovery of the Elizabethan merchant vessel in the Thames occurred in 2003-04 and what findings have been made in the course of the research subsequently undertaken.

Named after the financier Thomas Gresham, whose insignia was found stamped on one of the ship's guns, the vessel has yielded, among other things, a cargo of metal ingots and iron bars.

Join Milne as he attempts to uncover the history and mystery of that cargo.

COMEDY
Martin Coyote, Bermondsey Square Hotel

dd-jul16-CoyoteWEB.jpg

How about an evening meal followed by a dessert of light entertainment?

This is what the new Comedy Club at the Bermondsey Square Hotel claims to offer its guests.

Your entre for the evening will be Tom Price a name increasingly common on TV, radio and in the theatre, his amiable foppery may not prove to everybody's taste.

The fish course is provided by Rudi Lickwood who is followed by main course and dessert Martin Coyote.

Best known as a writer for radio's Bring Me The Head Of Light Entertainment, Martin's experience - 10 years on the road - and laddish allure should make for a humorous finale.

Went to see the Graduate at the Space this evening and cannot recommend it highly enough. I always had a love/ahte relationship with the novel in that I hated the main character with a passion but loved the book for its ability to evoke such an emoional response.

The play IMHO offers a more sympathetic view of Ben, but then perhaps I'm more sympatheic, being 30 now rather than the 18 when I read the book.

In any event it's extremely well performed and I find it very difficult to belive he players are amateurs. If yo do anything this weekend, go and catch it on Sunday night, you won't regret it.
