IN A NUTSHELL
The ice cream maker's annual opportunity to overdose on frozen dairy and live music whilst enjoying all the fun of the fair.

REVIEW
Free ice cream and live music guaranteed a high spirited crowd for Ben and Jerry's annual Sundae on the Common.

The queues for popular flavours Phish Food and Cherry Garcia far outweighed the line for the bar as Clapham Common hosted the frozen dessert giant's fifth UK festival.

The family friendly two day extravaganza provided the perfect excuse for grown ups to act like big kids.

Oxfam painted the faces of only too willing punters and balloon artists dishing out outlandish head gear were in demand.

Add to this a carousel, helter skelter and the chance to compete in toe wrestling or air guitar exhibitions and the carnival atmosphere was complete.

Festival fans sprawled on picnic blankets to enjoy some big name bands.

The line-up on Sunday included a chilled out set from Glaswegian five piece and John Peel favourite Camera Obscura and a frenzied show case from The Futureheads.

Despite the day's steady drizzle turning into a full on rain shower as headliners The Human League took to the stage, the sugar fuelled spirits of the audience refused to dampen.

Belting out all their classic synth pop hits, a sea of yellow plastic ponchos danced around their umbrellas.

At £9 a ticket, this has to be one of the best value for money festivals in the country. If you can eat your way through just four cones, you can easily made your money back on ice cream alone.
