New shops set to open in Canary Wharf
Wharfers will be able to get shirty with good reason this week when one of the country's top retailers opens in the mall.
Shirtmaker Charles Tyrwhitt opens a new store at 29 Canada Place mall, next to the HMV shop, next Thursday.
Already well-established in the City, Canary Wharf was the logical next step for the chain's expansion.
Charles Tyrwhitt hit the headlines this week when boss Nick Wheeler announced he was sending 6,000 of their shirts to troops serving in Afghanistan, at a cost of £120,000, to boost morale.
There won't be quite the same gesture in Canary Wharf, although customers do receive an unconditional three-month guarantee on every purchase, while the store also offers benefits for corporate customers. Contact corporate@ctshirts.co.uk for details.
High-end shoe shop Kurt Geiger is also due to arrive in Canary Wharf. It will open a new store in Cabot Place East in September, on the site vacated by Cross Pens earlier this year. It is currently recruiting staff. Contact salesrecruitment@kurtgeiger.com.
