A powerful collection of art and poems made by offenders at Wandsworth Prison will be on display at the Museum of London Docklands.

The art will be shown at the museum's London Sugar and Slavery gallery from next Wednesday.

Called Loss And Liberty, the 15 works include portraits and ceramic works linked to the transatlantic slave trade which the museum has focused on in the last year.

The museum's inclusion officer Lucy Fitton said: "Loss And Liberty is a thought provoking and exciting display. This project, like all of our social inclusion projects, is a two way street.

"Throughout, the participants gain a wide variety of skills through group working, writing and creativity.

"But their work also helps us to learn more about what London and its histories mean to people."

The gallery will be on show from August 5 to November 30.
