Jamie Oliver's Wharf restaurant to open on August 5

AA-jul9-JAMIE19.jpgJamie Oliver fans have less than a month to wait for the popular tv chef's Canary Wharf restaurant to open.

Jamie's Italian, in Churchill Place, will open its doors to the public on Wednesday, August 5, with Oliver heading down to the Wharf to cut the ribbon himself.

He revealed he is delighted to be coming to the area.

He said: "It's hugely exciting to be in Canary Wharf as it's such a vibrant, buzzing part of London. Whenever I go down to see how the new restaurant is progressing, there's always so much going on and I know that the businesses and the people who live in the surrounding area are going to love what we do at Jamie's Italian.

"It's perfect for a quick, affordable but delicious lunch and it's just as perfect for a dinner with friends."

It is the fifth of the chain to open, with restaurants already established in Oxford, Bath, Kingston and Brighton.

The canary wharf rest. is good - the only bad point is the two seating tables that are too close together five people in my office have all been for the dummy run and they all said the same..It spoils it as there is no room and really it reminds me of pigs eating out of troths. I know it is to rake in more money to get more people in but you don't want to hear other peoples conv. and also being obliged to speak to them. but you could change it to small round tables so you are not sitting along that sofa type seat.
