Danny Dyer on 50 Cent, EastEnders and UFOs

Brit flick actor Danny Dyer has carved out a career playing football hooligans and gangsters, as well as following dangerous criminals around.
But the Canning Town-born 31-year-old has set his sights on chasing another life-form - aliens. Dyer was at The Gentry salon on West India Quay last week meeting fans.
He was also keen to explain the variation from the usual hard-man image with the BBC documentary he is currently filming on UFOs.
He said: "It's called I Believe. It shows a different side to me. Rather than running around with dangerous, deadly men and all that, I'm trying to break the mould.
"I've always had a thing about UFOs since I was a kid. I've never had an experience but I'm constantly looking at the sky just in case."
He has been shooting a number of scenes across England for the one-off documentary and is soon heading to America with his film crew.
He said: "I've been to see cattle mutilations and crop circles. Some are hoaxes but others are unexplained, like the ones stretching over 1,500 metres - to do that in the pitch black is impossible. There's definitely something going on.
"There's not much chance of catching UFOs on film but it's about meeting people who think there's a big change coming.
"Some people are claiming they've been abducted and there's people passing messages on to them. Maybe they are telling the truth."
Dyer says this will be his last presenting role as he wants to move away from Bravo shows like Danny Dyer's Deadliest Men.
For now he wants to focus on his acting career.
He has five films out this year, but the first two, Doghouse and City Rats both did poorly.
However, he has turned down a role in EastEnders and is now focusing on his upcoming films, including Dead Man Running, starring 50 Cent, with footballers Ashley Cole and Rio Ferdinand part-financing the venture.
Dyer said: "50 Cent and Brenda Blethyn - that's quite a mad combination. An old school veteran actress and a gangster rapper. But I've got high hopes for it.
Unfortunately my first film this year Doghouse didn't do well at all and the second has died a death. I don't know what that's down to.
"It's tough out there at the moment. No-one's really going to the cinema. It's given me a kick up the a***."
Growing up in Canning Town, Dyer is often linked to a role in EastEnders. He revealed that he was recently offered a part in the soap, but turned it down.
He said: "At this point in my career it would not be the right choice. We had a little meeting, they put it to me, but it just was not the right time."
The actor has also appeared in political debate show This Week with Michael Portillo and Diane Abbott, discussing equality.
He said while that was a good experience, he wanted to be known as a serious actor.
He said: "I've got a publicist who's trying to keep me away from tabloids - even though
I am tabloid fodder - but we're trying to do more classy things.
I speak my mind but I have to rein it in a bit now because it does get me in a bit of trouble. I'm 32 this month, got two kids to think about and I don't want to embarrass them.
"I just want to focus on my career. I love acting. I get such a buzz out of it, so the presenting side of things I'm knocking on the head."
