Michael Jackson ticket announcement shortly
Ticketholders for Michael Jackson's shows at The O2 are being advised to wait for details of how to claim refunds.
The death of the King of Pop yesterday stunned the world, less than three weeks before he was due to make his long-awaited comeback in London.
The 50 dates at The O2, which were scheduled to start on July 13, sold out within hours and are believed to have accounted for around 10 per cent of the total tickets sold for live music in the UK this year.
Details of how fans will be able to claim refunds will be announced this afternoon, with those who bought them directly from the venue or from reputable ticket agencies likely to be fully reimbursed.
But anyone who obtained tickets from secondary sources may lose their money.
The scale of the shows means ticketing issues are complicated and The Wharf understands that details are being finalised about how refunds will be dealt with.
Jackson died from a heart attack last night, aged just 50.
