Amir Khan's world title fight at The O2 arena has been called off because his opponent has a tooth infection.

The Bolton-born boxer was due to take on Andreas Kotelnik in Greenwich on June 27. However, the date has now been postponed for three weeks and moved to Manchester's MEN Arena.

Khan said he was disappointed to not be fighting at The O2 against the Ukrainian in the WBA light-welterweight belt.

Khan added: "I was looking forward to headlining at The O2 arena again as I have a lot of fans in London.

"I always get a great reception there so hopefully I can go back sometime soon, maybe for my first defence.

"I had a great night at the MEN Arena against Barrera last time out and now I aim to win the world title against Kotelnik there, too."
