Michael Jackson fans have gathered at The O2 to mourn his death.

Tributes including flowers and candles have been left outside the venue which he was due to dominate with a string of 50 concerts following news he suffered a fatal heart attack yesterday (June 24).

Daniel Gambole, pictured, a 21-year-old student from Norfolk said: "We are all here to pay our respects and get together, it is such a shock.

"I just did not want to be alone. I read on some message boards this morning that a few people would be gathering here so I made my way down."

Mina Shah, 38, an IT manager from Ilford said: "I was up all night watching the news. It was magic I loved, what music, what dance, what a talent.

"It was truly amazing what he achieved. Whether you are a fan or not, I think everyone feels something. I laid a blue rose in tribute."

Natalie Wiles, 32, a sales rep from Greenford said: "You can't suffer on your own that is why we have all come here to grieve together and pay our respects.

"Every one holds something dear in their hearts."

Gemma Taylor, 26, a HR manager from Chislehurst: "I have been a fan my whole life and feel like I have lost a member of my family.

"When you appreciate someone your whole life, and especially what they have done, you lose something in your heart when they are gone."
