Do you have the balls to beat Samuel L Jackson at golf?

The star of Pulp Fiction and the Star Wars prequels is to transport his clubs to the London Golf Club for a charity benefit next month.

Wharfers will have the opportunity to join him and other A-list stars on the fairway, before enjoying "an evening of decadence" at the exclusive Hurlingham Club.

The actor has invited stars such as Luke Wilson, Don Johnson, Alice Cooper and Tim Henman to the Desert Nights Charity Benefit, which will raise funds for the Rainbow Trust children's charity.

The golf day will be followed by dinner prepared by a leading Michelin-starred chef on June 11, with Grammy Award-winning singer Natalie Cole and the BBC Big Band providing the music.

Samuel L Jackson is a massive fan of golf, and is no stranger to charity work either. His foundation works closely with the Red Cross, Save the Children and UNICEF, and has channelled funds into over 400 orphan care programmes for Aids institutes and orphanages, Teenage Cancer Trust, Breast Cancer Campaign and The United Negro College Fund.

The forthcoming event will help The Rainbow Trust to provide support for families of children with life-threatening or terminal illnesses. The national charity offers 24-hour non-medical support, and families can spent time together at its respite homes in Northumberland and Surrey.

Mr Jackson said: "This event gives me the opportunity to share the blessings that come with my success with deserving individuals or groups.

"It is an honour to work with the event organisers, Soujar, and Rainbow Trust, and know that our efforts will benefit our combined causes.

"My friends and I hope the trip will signify the desire and hope we have to create a better life for all, and the dream we have for a better world."
