DLR services stalled this morning after reports of a person on the track near Bank.

Trains were put "on hold" for nearly 15 minutes during the rush-hour, and a failed train later caused severe delays to the route in and out of the City.

A spokeswoman for DLR operators Serco said: "From 8.33am until 8.46am all DLR trains were 'on hold' because the power was turned off to investigate an unauthorised person on the track at Bank DLR station.

"It was for a short period only and at 8.46am all services resumed as normal.

"However, we did have a failed train at Shadwell after this incident which then caused severe delays to services on the West route in and out of Bank."
