GIG
Lionel Richie, The O2 arena

For a man who's sold more than 100million records, there's not much to do except to keep on keeping on.

Although unquestionably at the top of his career in the '80s, Richie is still producing music that finds a place in popular culture, one notable example being Running With The Night, which appeared on the soundtrack to blockbuster computer game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

He has also become massively popular in the Arab world in recent years, performing in Dubai, Qatar and Libya.

Expect all the hits, but a sprinkling of new material to keep the whole format fresh.

A flavour of Persia comes to the Indigo2 this week spearheaded by Iranian musician Sivash Ghomayshi.

Siavash, who was born in 1945 and left Iran aged 11, studied classical jazz at the Royal Society of Arts in London.

On his return to the country of his birth at 25, he began his career as a composer and has created numerous melodies and lyrics for famous Persian artists such as Ebi, Zia and Betty.

After leaving Iran after the revolution, he settled in the USA and began experimenting with electronic music.

He appears here alongside Farez and Sasver.
