Man banned from Wharf for "harassment"

Magistrates have banned a man from Canary Wharf after reports of harassment and shoplifting.
Emam Hussain, 27, of Shadwell Gardens, is the first person person to be banned from the area under Anti-Social Behaviour legislation.
As part of the order imposed by Thames Magistrates Court on March 13, Hussain will still be able to travel through Canary Wharf by public transport to attend drug rehabilitation. But he is prohibited from alighting from public transport within the exclusion area.
He had already breached banning notices issued by Canary Wharf Management Limited. Last month's court order will apply for three years.
Canary Wharf Management Ltd praised the work of Tower Hamlets Council's legal team, Community Safety Service and the police on the ASBO.
A spokespeson said: "The council and police have obtained an ASBO against one of our anti-social frequent visitors to the Canary Wharf Estate.
"We would like to thank all staff involved and it is heartening to know that he can now be dealt with if he returns."
