Grand Design - or £50,000 escape pod?
Stressed workers losing the epic struggle for peace and quiet at home might be about to retreat into futuristic escape pods lurking in the corner.
This Mork and Mindy-style capsule - featuring games systems, surround sound and air conditioning - is on show at Grand Designs Live.
Promising "a sense of solace and sanctuary", the Ovei can be custom-built to the specifications of the buyer. But it's not cheap, with pods retailing from £50,000 upwards.
The appearance of the Ovei is part of the Grand Designs show's new emphasis on home accessories rather than home moving. The show reported a 25 per cent rise in visitors to the Excel centre in Royal Docks over the opening weekend, with an increased interest in home building.
