Fear and clothing unnecessary on the Wharf
By Victoria Clayton

Fear of G20 protests has provoked a rash of denim on the Wharf for a second day, but bankers may as well have stuck to their suits in Docklands.
Aside from a increased security presence including a number of police patrols, Canary Wharf has remained untroubled by activists.
And Wharfers have said fears over protests were "overblown".
Rupert Sumerscales, 38, a senior market analyst at the International Grains Council, said: "I did receive some notification about the summit but there have been no issues.
"It has caused minor inconvenience to some people in the office but I ride a motorbike and the roads have been pretty good.
"The police have done a good job. In fact, I would like the protesters every day in central London as my journey to work has been so much quicker."
A 43-year-old manager of corporate actions at Citi who did not want to be named said: "I did not expect to see any trouble in Canary Wharf, I just did not consider it as a threat.
"We did have a couple of meetings to discuss contingency plans and some emails were sent round. But it has definitely not been worth worrying about. It's been quite relaxed.
"The only repercussion is that we were told to leave work early yesterday as there might be a problem with travel. I decided to wear jeans for a break from what I usually wear."
Anne Guyonnet, 20, a local hotel worker, said she had not been affected by the summit, but could understand some of the anger felt by the protesters.
She said: "Everybody is selfish. The system needs changing to stop our jobs from being taken away. There are less staff at the hotel where I work, and our clients are complaining about the lack of service.
"But what can we do? It's gone from one member of staff per 50 guests to stretching it to 63 guests."
