Wolves 2 Charlton 1
Tuesday's draw with Reading was followed by a 2-1 defeat on Saturday to Championship leaders Wolves.
Charlton can count themselves unlucky to come away with nothing following a good performance at Molineaux.
A scrappy opening period saw neither side get to grips with the game.
But 25 minutes in, charlton thought they had the lead. A shot by Nicky Bailey was deflected into the path of Zheng Zhi who took it round the keeper before firing in to the empty net.
However, the linesman had his flag up and the goal was disallowed because Zizi was harshly judged offside.
At the other end, Wolves had a goal disallowed for a push on Rob Elliot but in truth neither team deserved the lead.
Although top of the league Wolves were playing poorly and the home fans were getting restless.
But the referee was getting most of the abuse for some poor decisions.
However, it was Wolves who broke the deadlock on 36 minutes when a cross from Michael Kightly was converted by Chris Iwelumo, for the striker's first goal since before Christmas.
It was a scrappy first half and although Wolves were not playing well neither were Charlton with lone striker Tresor Kandol being quite isolated.
The start of the second half was similar to the first, but Wolves were beginning to play better football.
However, the unexpected happened on 52 minutes and it was Zizi who did it.
Picking up a Bailey pass, the Chinese international steadied himself before shooting from just outside the area.
The ball flew past goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey and into the top corner.
Zizi ran straight to Charlton manager Phil Parkinson to celebrate.
A few minutes later and Charlton nearly got a second.
Zizi's good run and cross found Kandol but the header was wide.
Zizi was now imposing himself on the match and was causing Wolves much concern.
The match was a much better spectacle with both teams trying to keep control of the ball.
It was on 70 minutes that Wolves had a golden opportunity to take the lead when they were given a dubious penalty for a 'push' by Kelly Youga.
But Sylvan Ebanks-Blake's penalty was well saved by Charlton goalkeeper Rob Elliot.
It was during a period of strong Wolves pressure but Charlton held strong and you were beginning to think it could be their day.
However, that changed soon after when Wolves scored from a corner, after Matt Holland turned the ball into his own net with 10 minutes left.
Despite Charlton looking dangerous on the counter attack with the pacey substitute Chris Dickson now on, they failed to make a breakthrough.
However, they did have a penalty appeal for a tug on Jonjo Shelvey turned down.
