Snow Patrol, The O2 arena

Inoffensive rock balladeers Snow Patrol arrive in North Greenwich this week, evidence they have kicked through the glass ceiling to become an act capable of filling the huge arena for three nights.

And perhaps that's no surprise as their gentle sound is inescapable, often finding its way onto TV soundtracks.

Responsible for flogging more than 7million albums worldwide, the Scottish and Northern Irish quintet will doubtless be cranking out the hits including Chasing Cars, once voted the greatest song of all time by radio listeners in America.

T-Pain, The Indigo2

Tallahassee Pain, more recognisable as T-Pain is bringing his Hip Hop circus to the Indigo2 to promote his latest album Thr33Ringz.

Known for his active use of auto-tune, this distinctive performer was plucked from obscurity by Akon and released his debut ablum in 2005, entitled Rappa Ternt Sanga, a nod to the fact he would rather have been rapping than singing.

Still, singing is where he's made his mark and his latest offering has cemented his place as HIp Hop royalty, featuring contributions from Lil Wayne, Ludacris, Ciara, Kanye West and troubled vocalist Chris Brown.

Heather Small, The Indigo2

The big voice of Heather Small is set to dominate the Indigo2.

Speaking to The Wharf in January, she said: "I'm loooking forward to the tour.

"People have seen me on TV a lot recently singing Proud but this is a chance to get out there and show people what else I can do.

"I can experiment a lot more on stage and I think people will be surprised by the variety of the show.

"It's an amalgamation of M People songs, new songs that are more bluesy and songs by people who I really admire, which will surprise people.

"I always try to surprise people."

Collabo '09, Stratford Circus

Innovative Hip Hop dance comes to Stratford Circus this week featuring offerings from dance crews at the cutting edge of the genre.

Participants come up with an interpretive response to a four-minute piece of music they have no control over.

Aimed at taking dancers out of their comfort zone, the concept is intended to provoke an artistic reaction.

Established in 2006 by creator and artistic director of Avant Garde Dance Company,

Tony Adigun, Collabo is an annual event that aims to challenge the way dancers create their work.
