Royal Docks residents will not have to carry ID on their travels during the G20 summit.

Locals were previously warned police would be carrying out checks while world leaders gathered at Excel on Thursday, but have now been told this will only affect those entering the estate itself.

The Metropolitan Police has advised that the footbridge from Excel to Britannia Village will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday, while the Connaught Bridge will be closed to all traffic on Thursday.

Custom House, Prince Regent and Royal Victoria DLR stations will also shut, although otherwise the service will run as normal.

While there are no planned local road closures, last minute changes may be made before or during the event.
