Michael Jackson has added extra dates to his run at The O2 arena.

Pre-sale tickets for the King of Pop's final bow in England have already sold out, but organisers have moved quickly to post new 17 dates, and revealed more are being revealed "by the hour".

Fans and media from around the world flocked to North Greenwich to hear the star's announcement that he was to play ten dates from July. The gigs were to be his last in the UK.

But the sheer demand for tickets put a huge strain on Ticketmaster's website this morning, and arena owners AEG Live reported 16,000 pre-sale draw registration requests a second last week.

Organisers The Outside Organisation confirmed that pre-sale tickets - which account for around half of the spots available for the ten shows - were sold after a flurry of activity today, but that tickets would still be available to buy from 7am on Friday.

Fans are advised to keep checking michaeljacksonlive.com for the latest updates.
