Flu-ridden Tina Turner postpones O2 gig

Booming songstress Tina Turner has put off tomorrow's gig at The O2 until May.
The performer has been advised to rest for six days by doctors after coming down with respiratory flu.
She was due to appear at the North Greenwich venue before heading to Sheffield the day after. Fans have been told that their tickets will be valid for the re-scheduled dates, and refunds will also be available.
The March 11 show was the last of scheduled appearances by Tina at the O2 arena, but she will now be back on May 3 instead.
A spokesperson for Tina Turner commented: "Tina always wants to give one hundred percent and has been overwhelmed by the reaction from her UK fans at the gigs last week.
"She regrets this decision to postpone and the inconvenience to all those fans with tickets but wants to make sure each concert she does is memorable for everyone."

8 of us saw Tina on Sunday and she was just brilliant, I am 55 and would like to know what she is on strutting her stuff liked she die in 96 no different sad she is poorly but these things happen just enjoy when it is resheduled. We had a great surprise a holiday in Barbados John Miles was at our hotel he was a lovely guy, his wife got great delight in telling all how he backs Tina well he was her lead singer and guitarist he was just as brilliant.
she is so beautiful.
i was gutted when i heard you had to cancel. as i have a ticket and booked the day off work. but i do wish you better soon tina. you are simply the best.
My wife and I came down from Scotland to see her on Sunday and we had the best night ever. At the start Tina sid she had a cold but would try her best, and she did. Some stars would do the dirty on her fans and cancel concerts on a whim, but not Tina as she is simply The Best.
Get well soon sweetheart! xxxx Wish I knew where to send a card or how to find out how she is?! Saw her on Sunday where she announced she had a cold but you would NEVER have guessed if she hadn't said. She sang & danced her ass off with just a couple of coughs. But then she was always used to performing with TB & other illnesses when she was with Ike. She's a tough cookie & will be angry to have to cancel. Artists less than half her age cancel for less. But this bug, I have it & it's a nightmare for singers as it attacks your voice also. Mine's virtually gone lol So she can't go onstage if the voice isn't there. She always has to give her best to the people & wouldn't want to go on & be unable to sing when people have spent so much on tickets. Glad she gave fans a day's notice for the cancellation. Some artists wait until the fans are all at the stadium before they decide to cancel lol
Saw Tina on the Saturday night at the o2. I've seen her over a dozen times and she was vocally stronger than ever. She ripped up the stage and danced, writhed, stomped and strut her stuff like a woman half her age. An incredible experience and one I will never forget. Madonna and co. take note ! Just to make sure it was as I say, I'm going to see the legend again in Dublin.....bring it on !
