Boris Johnson opens British Music Experience

#F464c Experience at The O2.jpgMichael Jackson might have gone but Boris Johnson stepped in to provide the entertainment at The O2 this morning.

The Mayor of London was at the venue to officially open the British Music Experience, the world's first fully interactive music attraction.

Unlike Jackson, who paid a fleeting visit when he announced his summer dates at the arena yesterday, Mr Johnson gave a virtuoso performance.

He quipped about British musicians accurately predicting the state of the economy with songs like Money's Too Tight To Mention, before trying his hand behind a drum kit.

He said: "The British Music Experience is a fantastic accomplishment and it will be a big draw."

The Mayor was joined by David Campbell, chief executive of AEG Europe who own and operate The O2, and music promoter Harvey Goldsmith, chairman of the British Music Experience Trust.

The attraction opens its doors to the public on Monday.
