Preview: West Ham v Manchester United

WestHam.gifManchester United visit Upton Park on Sunday looking to consolidate their place at the top of the league table.

The Premier League, European and World champions will undoubtedly give West Ham a real test, although their record at the Boleyn has been poor in recent seasons.

Last year Cristiano Ronaldo missed a penalty as West Ham won 2-1, courtesy of headed goals from Anton Ferdinand and Matthew Upson, while two season's ago Nigel Reo-Coker scored the only goal as the Hammers triumphed 1-0.

The Hammers lost 2-0 back in October when Ronaldo scored twice.

Gianfranco Zola has a full squad to choose from, bar long-term absentees Dean Ashton and Danny Gabbidon, while Kieron Dyer is still recovering from his latest injury.

Latest signing Radoslav Kovac is in contention, although the Czech midfielder is more likely to be on the bench.

The Hammers are full of confidence after an eight match unbeaten run, which included a creditable 0-0 draw at Arsenal last Saturday.

Three former Hammers are likely to be in the Manchester United line-up: Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick and Carlos Tevez.

Fans heading to Sunday's game, which is being screened live on Sky, should be aware that there are planned engineering works on the District line so they should allow extra time for their journeys.
