Rotherhithe Tunnel and Branch Road will shut over the weekend as work continues on the extension of the Limehouse DLR station platform.

Transport for London confirmed the roads would be closed from midnight on Friday to 5am on Monday.

The DLR network is currently undergoing a three-year overhaul to accommodate three-car trains, and TfL will take advantage of this weekend's closure of the Bank to West India Quay stretch by carrying out maintenance work on the tunnel.

Branch Road - which provides access to and from the tunnel - will also shut as contractors work on the railway bridge overhead. Diversion signs will direct traffic towards Tower Bridge.
