The shoe shop, in Cabot Place West, confirmed it will welcome back customers in the next week and is actively recruiting staff.

The fashion footwear store closed just after Christmas when the company went into administration but owner Cos Constantinou was confident he would be able to buy back some of the stores.

The Canary Wharf outlet, which only opened last spring, was high on his list of priorities.

A Kate Kuba spokeswoman said: "We are looking to reopen most of our stores but it is a work in progress.

"We're hopeful the Canary Wharf shop will be open within the next week or so."

Kate Kuba specialises in selling Ugg boots, popular with the likes of actress Sienna Miller, but got into difficulties as the economic downturn worsened.

Customers who were worried their gift vouchers were worthless as a result of the closure are assured they will be able to use them in the reopened store.
