01feb7shuttle1.jpgThe Dot2Dot shuttle bus service linking Canary Wharf to Heathrow has been sold by National Express for just £1.

The service to ferry Wharfers to the airport was launched last February but struggled to attract sufficient numbers, racking up a £7million loss.

The buyers are leisure industry specialists Corot.

Dot2Dot was first operated from Central London in November 2007 and expanded to include Canary Wharf just as the credit crunch began to bite.

Passengers booked journeys in advance and were collected by one of a fleet of 51 minibuses taking them to Heathrow or Gatwick airports.

But the Gatwick service was discontinued last July because of poor uptake.

It is unclear whether Corot will continue to operate the service from Canary Wharf.

I have used the service several times, and have found it to be very good and great value for money.
