Charlton's agonising winless run was extended in the FA Cup match at The Valley, resulting in an unwanted replay against Norwich City.

It was another painful game for the Addicks, who dominated the majority of the match, but have now gone 17 games without victory.

It was all looking good for Charlton with recalled midfielder Jonjo Shelvey becoming the club's youngest ever goalscorer when they took the lead on 20 minutes.

The move began when an excellent Jon Fortune ball put Hameur Bouazza through down the left.

His pull back cross found 16-year-old Shelvey 14 yards out who fired past goalkeeper David Marshall.

The Addicks should have doubled their lead on 38 minutes when Deon Burton put Bouazza through again down the wing, only for the Algerian to fire across goal after cutting inside.

The from a corner by Shelvey, Burton had a free header but directed it too close to Marshall who pushed it over.

Just before the break Lloyd Sam also fired just wide after a mazy run, to leave the score 1-0 at half-time.

Four minutes into the second period Norwich had their first shot on goal when substitute Wes Hoolihan's effort from 12 yards sailed wide.

Straight up the other end, Bouazza had two efforts well saved by Marshall before Burton had the keeper at full stretch from close in.

For all of Charlton's dominance they couldn't get a goal and the inevitable happened on 71 minutes.

After a scramble in the Charlton box the ball fell to Arturo Lupoli who fired past keeper Rob Elliot at the near post.

Neither team could carve out any clear cut chances in the remaining minutes, and the sides will head for a replay at Carrow Road on Tuesday, January 13.
